Ross Edward Balthis, 60, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 21, 2025. He was born on October 14, 1964, to parents Roy and Thelma (Peachie) Balthis in Newport News, Virginia. Ross graduated from Poquoson High School, Class of 1983 where he was active in the band and jazz band. An avid swimmer, Ross swam for the Beaconsdale Blue Marlin's Swim Team in the 1970's and attended Resurrection Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. Ross graduated from St. Leo University and Golden Gate University earning a master's degree in public administration. He served on the Virginia Beach Police Department for several years before becoming a NCIS Agent in Federal Law Enforcement where he retired after 20 years of service.

Preceded in death by his parents; he leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Dinah Balthis and brother, Paul H. Balthis; as well as his niece, Emilee Brooke Balthis and many cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 3, 2025 at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4897 Longhill Rd, Williamsburg, VA. The family will greet visitors following the service in the fellowship hall. Everyone is invited to join the family for lunch at Old Towne Pizza and Pasta, 5540 Old Towne Road, Williamsburg after the service.
