It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our mother, Rosetta Benton Tuttle Hutchens. Rosetta passed away on December 9, 2015, peacefully at her Hampton home. Born in Jacksonville, FL on November 12, 1923, she moved to Virginia in 1943 and has been a resident of Hampton for more than seventy years. She retired from the Newport News shipyard in 1985 and was a member of Hampton Baptist Church. Mrs. Hutchens is preceded in death by her husband, Peyton E. Hutchens, Jr. and their sons Paul L. Hutchens and Peyton E. Hutchens III, and a sister, Kathleen Wilsher. She is survived by James E. Tuttle(Beverley), Stephen E. Hutchens (Kathy), Cynthia Lambert(Wayne), Ann H. Kiser(Owen, deceased), seven grandchildren(Chad Hutchens, Jennifer Ellis, Emily Little, Abigail DiSalvo, Zachary Tuttle, Tyler Tuttle and Sara Kiser) and 2 great- grandchildren(Samuel Peyton DiSalvo and Bennett Wyatt Little). She is survived by her brothers in Florida; Buck Benton (Barbara) and Cecil Benton (Jane). A sister in North Carolina, Marion Long (Warren, deceased) and a sister in law in Virginia, Marian Daniels (Roy, deceased). She has several nieces and nephews, too. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 AM, Friday, December 11, 2015 at Peninsula Memorial Park by Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Pugh Mills of Hampton Baptist Church.
