Rosemary Wright Magness, 100, of Newport News passed away July 14, 2023. Born on Ft. Monroe she was a longtime Hampton resident before moving to The Chesapeake. Rosemary married her late husband, Gayland William Magness in 1941 and they celebrated 58 years of marriage before his passing. She was a 60-year member of Bethany Church in Hampton.

Survivors include her sons, Edward Magness (Beverly) and John Magness (Joan); sister, Eleanor Woodward; grandchildren, Lauren McCay (Brendan) and Lisa Magness; and great-grandchildren, Immy, Quinn, and Grady.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the wonderful people at The Chesapeake especially the health care staff.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11AM at St. John's Cemetery in Hampton, conducted by Rev. Jeff Cannon of Bethany Church.
