Rose Marie Hogge, 76, died Monday, February 2, 2015. Born in Newport News, she was a lifelong Peninsula resident. She loved to cook and play the lottery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Joseph Howell; her sister, Betty Good; her brothers, James Wesley Howell, John Gary Howell, and Kenneth Wayne Howell; and her daughter, Katherine D. Ezzell. Survivors include her husband, Monroe Hogge; her daughters, Cynthia M. Ezzell and her husband, Marvin, Dorothy M. Ezzell and her husband, Mark, Mary Jean Taylor and Rose R. Williams all of Virginia; her brothers, Joel Howell of Waldron, AR and Elwood Howell and his wife, Sue of Yorktown; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, February 6, 2015 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 Thursday at the funeral home.
