Rosa Antomattei, went home to join her heavenly father on October 15, 2022. She was born December 15, 1958 in New York City to parents Agustin Antomattei and Dolores Antomattei. Rosa was the 7th of 9 siblings. She studied Early Childhood Education at Bronx Community College and went on to start her own business as a daycare owner and provider which she enjoyed for 30 years. She was a proud homeowner in the Bronx, New York & had lived in Virginia for just shy of 2 years after moving here to enjoy her retirement. Rosa loved to cook a meal and feed her loved ones, neighbors, and anyone in need. She loved listening to all genres of music but more specifically Motown and Gospel. She loved a good comedy special and was sure to watch the newest releases on Netflix. Rosa will be remembered for her devotion to education and her love of children, even the fussiest children instantly had an affinity for her. She was beloved by all 13 of her nieces and nephews and the 100's of children she raised in her daycare.
Rosa is survived by her sisters; Delilah, Diana, Daisy, and Maria, and her brothers; Augustin, and Jerry.
Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life, and she was a long-time member of Christian Calvary Fellowship, Christ Community Church and later after her move to Virginia she found a new home at The Potter's House of Hampton.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at 4PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton.
