Roberta I. Jones, 66, died Monday, February 24, 2014. A native and lifelong resident of Hampton, Roberta worked 20 years for Maida Development Company.

Roberta was preceded in death by her husband Phillip Jones Sr. and her mother Adair Brackins. She is survived by her sons, James Deel and Phillip Jones, Jr.; father, James R Brackins; sister, Vivian Coffey; brother, Paul Brackins; and grandson, Christopher Deel.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Paul Evans and the staff of Newport News Pace, the Morningside staff, and to their cousin Paula Coffey for their care and support during Roberta's illness.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 27, 2014 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with interment to follow in Albert G. Horton State Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 PM at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
