Bob was a very simple and compassionate man. He never wanted or needed a lot of stuff. He would bring strangers into the home and feed them, he gave them shelter and made sure they were okay.
His mechanic tools and tool chests were his prize possessions and he loved working with his hands. He was a refrigeration mechanic by trade but worked on garbage trucks, tractors, cars and took pride in his work. The Lord blessed him with many talents that no one was aware of. He was a master welder and arc welder, an electrician, a plumber and just a jack of all trades. He built beautiful furniture from the trees cut down in our yard. He loved to tinker in his "Man Cave" once he became disabled and couldn't do a lot. He loved to plant a garden and watch it grow so we could eat the fresh vegetables.
His love for dogs was overwhelming. The dogs were all rescue dogs. The first dog was Abigail (yellow lab), second was Arrop (pedigreed black lab), third was Maximillian (pedigreed white lab show dog and his title in the registry was "Lord Duke Of Glouster", fourth was Honey (pedigreed golden retriever), fifth was One Eyed Jack (golden retriever). Sixth was Orion (black lab) and the last two that Bob loved so much are Bandit (black lab beagle mix) and Libby(pedigreed black lab). The dogs brought such joy and love into our home and into Bob's life. The dogs were his constant companions.
I cherished the 32 years of marriage with him even when his disability worsened. He is now home to begin a new life and we all will meet again. There will a memorial at a later date in Washington PA where Bob will be buried at the foot of his mother's grave.
