Robert E. Leavell, 82, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Born in Prescott, AZ, he had been a Hampton resident since 1984 where he attended First United Methodist Church Fox Hill. He retired as Lt. Col. from the Army and the Army National Guard with over 30 years of combined service and then went to work for the Civil Service at Fort Monroe for an additional 25 years.

An only child, he was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mabel Isabel Stevenson Leavell; he is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna Marie Leavell; two cousins, Sharon Varvel and her husband, Charles and Leonard Alger and his wife, Sandi; and a host of friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill with a luncheon to follow. Interment with full Army honors will take place at 3:00 PM, at the Albert G. Horton, Jr. State Veterans' Cemetery in Suffolk.
