Robert G. Hamel, 76, died Sunday, March 1, 2015. A native of Gardner, MA, he had been a Hampton resident since 2008. A Navy veteran, he retired from Templeton Developmental Center in 1999 after 25 years of service. He then went to work at Walmart in Gardner retiring again in 2008. He was a dedicated member of Victory Baptist Church, always assisting with the men's breakfast on Saturday mornings. He enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, playing cribbage and bowling, and was a huge Boston Red Sox fan. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hamel; five sons, John, James, Michael, Michael, and Timothy Hamel; a daughter, Christina Fowler; one sister, Diane Hamel; six brothers, Ronald, John Paul, David, Charles, Joseph, and Thomas Hamel; sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Victory Baptist Church by Pastor Samuel E. Hyde.
