Robert E. Graham Sr., 86, died December 2, 2017. A native of Ohio, Robert had been a longtime resident of the Peninsula. After graduating from Hampton High School, he was drafted and served in the Army and then the Army Reserves. He had a long career with NASA, first attending the Apprentice School when it was NACA, and then retiring after 30 years of service. Robert loved racing sailboats with the Hampton Yacht Club, was a lifetime member of the NRA, and while he was a member of the Peninsula Bicycle Club, he rode his bicycle from Oregon to Yorktown. Robert was a former member of the Lafayette Gun Club. He loved to camp, boat, and fish. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his two sons, and his brother and half-brother. He is survived by his daughter, Jeanne Michelle Graham, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a large extended family. The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 5-6 PM.
