IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert M.
Boone
August 4, 2025
Love doesn't die, people do. Robert M. Boone, 70, died Monday, August 4, 2025. Born in Newport News, he was a lifelong Peninsula resident and retired as a ship fitter from the department of Navy at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Information Systems from Thomas Nelson Community College. He loved to fish, hunt, and watch football, wrestling, and NASCAR racing.
Robert was a loving husband and father. He loved to play his guitars, especially with his sons, Justin and Tom. They, along with wife Linda on the piano, and other family members participating, would play for family concerts, especially the yearly Christmas concert. Robert also shared his passion for nature and our waterways by volunteering with Linda. He participated with Hampton Clean City Commission by attending meetings and cleanups. He also participated with the Peninsula Master Naturalists and was especially fond of helping at Blue Bird Gap Farm. He cherished spending time and making special memories with his family, especially his cousins, who lived in the mountains of Covington, Virginia .
Robert spent as much time as possible on the water with all his loved ones. His suffering has ended. May all that have been honored by knowing him, find peace in your hearts and find his memory a blessing.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Boone; his daughter, Rachel Dymond and husband, Tom, their children, Mya and Madelyn Dymond; his son Justin Boone, his children, Lilith and Evelyn Boone; his sister, Carolyn Gall; his brother, David Boone; his niece Candace Montgomery; and his great aunt, Roselyn Boone.
We will remember Robert with love and fondness at his funeral mass held at his local church, Saint Joseph Catholic Church on August 13, 11:00. Services will be live streamed to the St. Joseph Facebook page.
