Richard Lee Harper, 63, passed away Friday, March 15, 2019. Born in Charleston, WV, on August 8,1955, he was a resident of Newport News for 51 years, where he was a Commercial Truck Driver and a longtime member of Victory Life Church. Richard loved being around children. He was an avid lover of music and singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Kathleen Harper, two brothers, and one sister: Charles Harper Jr, Bobby Joe Darby, and Helen Ordonia. Richard is survived by his wife, Juanita Harper; children, Michael Draven, Amanda Anderson, and Paul Carter: sisters, Barbara Williams (Bob), and Mary Vance; brothers, Tom Harper (Shiryl), Leonard Harper (Tammy) and Mike Harper (Jan); two grandchildren, Richard Carter and Katherina Carter; nieces and nephews; Arron, Nathan, Dallas, Chucky, Lenora Harper,Tina Russell, Tyra Moore, David Darby, Jeff, and Gregg Williams.

A service to celebrate Richard's life will be held on April 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Healing Waters Worship Center, 12172 Smith's Neck Rd. in Carrollton.
