Richard ("Dick") Daniel Fore, the owner and operator of Fore-Most Flowers and Antiques in Hampton, passed away at his home on December 21, 2022 due to complications from cardiomyopathy.

Mr. Fore was born and raised in Farmville, VA, graduated from Farmville High School in 1959 and attended Hampden-Sydney College. As a young man, he was a photographer for The Farmville Herald newspaper.

He moved to New York City to pursue a career modeling men's fashions for such designers as Evan Von Furstenberg. Years later, he returned to Virginia, eventually moving to Hampton where he developed a loyal following as a floral designer for Horseman Florist. In 1999, following the death of Mr. Fore's long-time partner, Fred L. Holland, and the closing of Horseman's, he opened Fore-Most.

Mr. Fore was also a certified antique appraiser appearing on numerous episodes of Chesapeake Collectibles (Maryland Public Television)

He is survived by Frank W. Fortuna, Jr., his devoted spouse and business partner; three brothers: William G. Fore, Jr. (Joyce) of Farmville, M. Thomas Fore (Susan) of Rocky Mount, VA and Robert T. Fore of Farmville; many nieces and nephews; and treasured friends.

Visitation will be at Mr. Fore's home on Friday, January 6, 2023, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 7 at 4:00 PM, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, in Hampton, with the Rev. Samantha Vincent-Alexander, the Rev. Mark Riley and Rev. Anderson Clary officiating and may be watched live by clicking HERE . Inurnment will follow later in the spring at Westview Cemetery, Farmville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Farmville Presbyterian Church, Point of Honor Museum, in Lynchburg, VA (once the home of Mr. Fore's ancestors), or the American Heart Association.
