Richard Manning Boykin, Jr., 77, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2013. Born in Charleston, SC, he has been a resident of Hampton since 1963, where he was an Aerospace Engineer with NASA, retiring as a division chief, in 1994 after 33 years.

Mr. Boykin was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, was very dedicated and involved with the scouting, and was Past Commodore of the Hampton Yacht Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maywood and Richard M. Boykin Sr. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Betty Boykin; daughter, Elisabeth Ashley Boykin; son, Richard M. Boykin III, sister, Betty Boykin Felder and grandson, Dominic (Scooter) Hunter Boykin.

A memorial service will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday at St. John's Episcopal Church by Rev. Samantha Vincent-Alexander.
