Richard William Boyd, 70, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a resident of Hamburg, PA but lived in Hampton, VA for a brief period of time where he worked for Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News Shipbuilding as Senior Foundry Metallurgist.
Rick is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jean A. Boyd; children and their spouses, Bret Boyd, Scot and Zlatka Boyd, and Katy and Ryan Rhoads; and grandchildren, Aiden Rhoads, Mikael Rhoads, Gabriel Rhoads, Veronica Boyd and Natalie Boyd. He was predeceased by a half brother Emerson "Jack" Renard husband to Kathie Renard and two nephews.

High Alloy Product Group representative to the Technical & Operating Group of the SFSA
On the committee and as Chairman of the High Alloy Research Committee of the SFSA.
On the Electric Furnace Committee of the Iron and Steel Society of AIME
Two terms as Chairman of the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Foundry Society
Chairman of the High Alloy Product Group of the SFSA
Technical Chairman, Investment Group, East Coast Regional Conference - AFS, 1991, 93, 95
National Director for the American Foundry Society, Des Plaines Il 1994 - 1997
Secretary-Treasurer of the Keystone Chapter of the American Foundrymen's Society, 30+ yrs
He wrote and presented technical papers to:

Hobbies included chess, astronomy, computers, and a special fondness for singing with church, Shriners and Hamburg Community Concert choirs.
