Rhea Eldridge Harris of Surry County, VA, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, June 28, 2022.  He was a beloved husband, parent, grandparent, mentor and friend who will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his parents Buford M. Harris and Ruth Y. Shafer; beloved Aunt Ruth Harris Joyce; former wife Lois Myers Harris; step grandchildren James C. Trombley and Heather A. Jones. He is survived by his wife Lisa Harris; brother Larry Harris; stepchildren Cathy Morecock, James Jones, Curtis Jones, Lorraine Valiquette, Christine Blackburn, Suzanna Blackburn, and Danielle Stickle; 15 step grandchildren and 12 step great grandchildren.  Rhea was a devoted employee of Branscome, Inc. for over 40 plus years and a Master Mason.  Rhea had a passion for animals, gardening, tinkering, cooking and many other things.

Visitation will be held Tuesday July 5, 2022 from 6:00pm-7:00pm at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armstead Ave. Hampton, VA 23669.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 1:00pm at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armstead Ave. Hampton, VA 23666.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kerrs Creek Baptist Church, 66 Franks Lane, Lexington, VA 24450.
