French native, Renee J. Thompson, 89, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2014. A Peninsula resident for 18 years, she came to the US in 1958, and was a member of the Peninsula French Club. On any given day, she could be found outside, taking her daily walk or at the Yorktown Market on Saturdays. We will miss her presence desperately but her spirit will live forever in our hearts.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her son, Axel R. Thompson. Left to cherish her memory is a daughter, Marie Claude Ashley (Peter Ashley), a daughter-in-law, Jean Cordovana Thompson, a granddaughter, Heather Ashley Franks(Keith Franks), two grandsons, Darren E. Ashley, and Axel Tyler Thompson, and two great granddaughters, Emily and Lindsey Franks.

The family would like to thank friends for their care, love and support during this time of need. The memorial service will be private.
