Rebecca Lynne Southcombe, 37, passed away on October 3, 2015, at home surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. She will join her mother Vivian Southcombe and brother, Dusty Southcombe in Heaven. Rebecca was born in 1978 and has been a lifelong resident of Hampton. She was born with a rare syndrome and has had many ups and downs, but nothing could keep her down. She was always in a good mood. She loved helping with "Meals on Wheels", Sock Hops, bowling and parties sponsored by local Scout Troup 140. She also enjoyed events with Able-R-Us, Christmas parties, Special Olympic Swimming, and the Summer Ball at the Hampton Moose Lodge #1119. Rebecca loved her large family and going on camping trips in the woods in North Carolina. She is survived by her father, Lynne A. Southcombe; sisters, Rhonda Richardson, Sheryl Underwood, Tonya Becker, Melinda Streets, Michelle Malone and Ramonda Steinke; brothers, Ramon Monroe, Randy Monroe, Derrick Southcombe, Ryan Southcombe and Andy Southcombe; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 PM Friday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton. Immediately following at 7:00 PM, Rebecca's life will be remembered and celebrated in the funeral home chapel.
