Rebecca Knight Laity, 76, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013. Born in Roxboro, NC she had been a Hampton resident since 1970. Becky retired from the Hampton City Schools after 26 years as a teacher and then continued on as a mentor at Cary Elementary School. She was a very devoted member of Buckroe Baptist Church where she served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and stayed active with all of the children's programs.

Becky is survived by her children, Burt Bryan Laity, Kim Knight Stafford, David Carroll Laity and Gary Todd Laity; sister, Edriel Ausley; four granddaughters, Margaret Mary Johnson, Magann Diane Evans, Sarah Elizabeth Laity and Grace Rebecca Laity; a grandson, Mark Daniel Watts; a great-grandson, Christian Evans; and great-granddaughter, Kendall Evans.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 PM, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Buckroe Baptist Church by the Rev. Kevin Schrum and Rev. Frank Earwood. The family will receive friends Saturday, at a reception at the church following the service.
