Randolph J. "Randy" Holston, Sr 80 of Virginia Beach, formerly of Fox Hill, passed peacefully on January 7, 2018 to continue his journey with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Holston; his mother, Frances Ingram Holston; sister, Barbara Proffitt; and son Randolph J. "Randy Jr." Holston, Jr.

Randy retired in 1991 after 37 years of employment with Bell Atlantic. He served in the US Navy for 6 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #197 in Hampton. In his younger years, he served as a volunteer fireman.

Randy had a great love for the water and fishing on his pride and joy "Papa Joe". He loved the game of golf, dancing and what a great dancer he was. For all who knew him, his very favorite pass time was challenging "Lady Luck".

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Linda of 21 years; son, Josh Holston and wife Amy, and their four children; daughter, Shayna Wesselink and husband Jessie and their three children; and was dearly loved by his step-daughters, Wendy Woods, Valorie Wisecup and her two children, Wende Wagner and son, and Stacy Wagner and her two children.

A funeral service will be conducted at 10 am, Friday, January12, 2017 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton with interment to follow in Clark Cemetery, Fox Hill. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
