Ralph Johnson Quinn, age 80, departed his earthly life on November 6, 2014. Preceding him in death were his parents, William Franklin Quinn and Maggie Johnson Quinn; and his brother, Earl Quinn. Those left to lovingly remember him are his devoted wife of 52 years, Marcia; his children, Ellen Quinn of Dallas, TX, David Quinn and wife Kathy of Poquoson,; sister, Pat Quinn; and his special treasure, granddaughter, Cecelia Quinn. Ralph was born and raised in the Fox Hill community of Hampton and through all of his life delighted in telling stories of his boyhood and the lifelong friendships he made there. He worked for the Shipyard, Hampton Fire and Sheriff Departments before finding the job that suited him best as the cemetery grounds keeper at historic St. John's Episcopal Church. He loved the job, the people of the church, and was always happy working outside. Ralph faithfully attended First United Methodist Church Fox Hill and was a member of the Searchers Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Men. There will be a Service of Remembrance at First United Methodist Church Fox Hill 1 Salt Pond Rd, Hampton on Monday, November 10 at 3:00 PM. Ralph's family will visit with friends and share refreshments in the Fellowship Hall after the service. Cremains will be placed in St. John's Cemetery by the family at a later time.
