Phyllis J. "PJ" Spivey, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 14, 2024. She was a lifelong resident of the Peninsula and had worked as a manager for Little Sue Convenience Stores in many local locations. She loved her family and babysat all of her grandchildren while they were growing up.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Calloway and Evelyn Napier, her son, Michael, and six siblings. Survivors include her children, Jeffery Spivey, Jennifer Shelton, and David Brian West; her grandchildren, Ashley, Nick, Mikayla, Chris, Elle, Isaiah, and RJ; great-grandchildren, Isiah, Levi, Violet, Aubree, and Arya; sisters, Joye Harsh, Retta Elliott, and Sylvia Henry; brothers, Denny Napier, Carson Napier, and Jim Napier; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 25, 2024 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel by Rev. Reggie Frazier.
