Phyllis Mills Hansen, born in Dinwiddie County, Virginia on June 30, 1932, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 from complications resulting from COPD and emphysema. Ms. Hansen graduated from Hampton High School in 1951. She was a life-long member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and was employed by Gloria Dei Lutheran School as a paraprofessional and as an office assistant for more than 35 years.
She is survived by her four children, Carl Hansen and his wife Jeannie Hansen, Chris Hansen and his wife Kim Hansen, Karen Guerrero and her husband Manny Guerrero, and Lloyd (Happy) Hansen. She is also survived by her six grandchildren; Katie Hansen, Hunter Hansen and his wife Cassie Hansen, Alleigh Guerrero, Luke Guerrero, Jeffrey Hansen, and Kyle Hansen as well as two great-grandchildren Grey and Liam Hansen.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and warm thoughts and especially for all the cards and visits extended during her illness. We also would like to thank St. Francis Nursing Center for the care given to our very own "Marnie" and to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church for making her life so rich and complete.
A Memorial Service will be held at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10AM with inurnment following the service in The Garden of the Saints at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church.
