Petra Bott, 58, of Hampton, VA passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Petra was born on July 9, 1957 in Wertheim, Germany. She later moved to Hampton at age 15, and graduated from Bethel High School in 1975 and Old Dominion University in 1989. Petra was a driven professional and animal lover. Her passions were genealogy, family history, and her native country of Germany. Petra had a quick wit, a big heart, and was one-of-a-kind. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will miss dearly yet know she is no longer suffering and is in a better place. Petra was diagnosed with MS 18 years ago, and faced her long battle with MS with strength and grace. Petra's family would like to thank the entire Medi Home Hospice team for their excellent care and treatment. Hospice personnel are truly a gift from God. Petra is survived by her son, Joseph Bott; her sister, Patricia Lloyd; her brothers, Stanley, Michael, and Thomas Jones; her niece, Suzanne Werntz; and her nephew, Timothy Tice. Petra is preceded in death by her husband, Ian Bott; father, Walter Jones; mother, Elisabeth Jones; and brother, William Jones. Services will be private.
