Obituary
Peter Angelo Padula, 97, died Thursday, August 2, 2018. Born in New Hampshire, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps following the attack on Pearl Harbor. His years of service took him through World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He earned 3 Purple Hearts, a Silver Star, and many other commendations. Peter retired after 28 years of service with a rank of Sargent Major. During retirement, he enjoyed reading, fishing and coin collection and was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Alexandria.
Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Eloise Padula; survivors include his sons, David A. Padula and wife, Jean of Las Vegas and Donald L. Padula and wife, Sharon of Hampton; five grandchildren, Thomas, Sharon, Anthony, David and Michael; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a small private ceremony at a later date.
