Penny Burch Arthur , 81, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024.
A lifelong Hamptonian, Penny was preceded in death by her parents, Willam "Scoop" Burch and Marionetta "Big Penny" Burch.
Penny leaves behind a daughter and a son, Jennifer Linnemann of Southport, NC and Jeffrey Arthur of Waxhaw, NC.
She will be missed by her daughter-in law, Laura Arthur, and her grandchildren, Shelby and Sophia Linnemann and the Arthur kids, Seth, Bailey, Avery, Campbell and Besalu (Lulu).
A graduate of Hampton High and Chowan College, Penny eventually embarked on a career with Yale Lock Corporation where she became the top architectural hardware salesperson in the United States and Canada. She retired to Newport News to spend her final years cheering on her beloved Redskins.
A visitation will be held at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Ave, Hampton on Nov. 16 from 2-3 pm; followed by a Celebration of Life at My Neighbors Pub in Newport News.
