On May 3, 2018 The LORD Jesus took Peggy Darnell Stickle to be with him in Heaven. Peggy was born September 26, 1937 in Hampton, Virginia. She married her high school sweetheart, Joseph W. Stickle, on New Year's Eve in 1955. She was the daughter of John & Emma Darnell, both deceased, and the sister of Joan Cowley of Hampton, Rebecca Richerson of Salem and John Darnell of Williamsburg. She graduated from Hampton High School in 1955, having been a cheerleader, a member of the "K" club, and a homecoming basketball Queen. God blessed Peggy with 62 years of marriage. She had been a member of Fox Hill Road Baptist Church for almost 60 years where she tended the baby nursery during the Sunday School hour. Peggy & Joe had two sons, Joey & Tommy, and a daughter, Melissa. They have 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren (twin boys born this year on April 4th). Peggy was long recognized as an avid lover of flowers. Her lawn was named "yard of the year" in her former home in Elizabeth Lake Estates. She loved the Lord, her family, and life, and all she was blessed with. Viewing will be held at Fox Hill Road Baptist Church on Friday May 11, 2018 at 1:00 pm, followed by a service at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News. The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Fox Hill Road Baptist Church.
