Peggy Jean Jefferson Cash, 84, passed away on June 14, 2025.  She was born on January 22, 1941, in Danville, VA to the late Henry Marshall Jefferson, Jr. and Mamie Gilliland Jefferson.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hardy W. Cash, Sr; and her brother, Henry M. "Buddy" Jefferson, III; she is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Nelms (Danny) of Fort Mill, SC and Kathryn Edmondson (Frankie) of Portsmouth, VA; four grandchildren, Morgan Molihan (Tyler) of Cincinnati, OH, J. D. Grizzle (Amberly) of Harford County, MD, Jack Nelms of Charlotte, NC and Mackenzie Grizzle (fiancé, Travis) of Mechanicsville, VA; one great-grandchild, Josephine Molihan of Cincinnati, OH; four stepchildren, Mike Cash (Donna), Paul Cash, Hardy Cash, Jr. (Sidony) and Amy Cash; as well as four step-grandchildren and four great-step-grandchildren.

Peggy was a resident of Newport News for many years.  She was a member of the Junior Women's Club, the Women's Club, and the Beverly Hills Garden Club.  She moved to Hampton in 1989 and retired from Teagle Realty in 1992.  After retirement, she enjoyed volunteer work at the Best of Friends Gift Shop in the Hampton Library and her membership in the Pembroke Garden Club.

A graveside service will be at 11 AM on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Parklawn Memorial Park.  The funeral service will be at 12:30 on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Newport News where she was a member for 57 years.  A reception will follow the church service.
