Peggy F. Becouvarakis, 87, died Friday, August 26, 2022. Born in Lynchburg, she graduated from Madison College in 1955, moved to Hampton, got married, and began a long career teaching, predominately at Kecoughtan High School. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed crossword puzzles. She also volunteered her time at Sentara Careplex Hospital.
Preceded in death by her husband, George Becouvarakis; she is survived by her daughter, Deborah Walker and her husband, Chris; her son, George T. Becouvarakis and his wife, Kimberly; five grandchildren, Alex Becouvarakis (Maggie), Kristina and Dominic Becouvarakis, Lynn Brankley, and Allison Seal; and five great grandchildren, Ollie, Emma, Colby, Landon, and Kirby.
The family will receive friends from 6-7pm Thursday, September 1, 2022 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 7PM. The committal service will be at 11am Friday at Peninsula Memorial Park.
