Peggy Shaddix Alvis, 80, died Monday, August 3, 2015. Born in Birmingham, AL, she had been a Peninsula resident since 1967. Peggy had worked many years as a floral designer, most recently working for Becky's Buckroe Florist. Peggy is survived by her husband Donald E. Alvis; children, Gary Alvis, Kitty Williams, Connie Schneider, and Lesa Ankney; sister, Sara Reeves; grandchildren, Jessi Smith, Jessica Gaboury, Jonathan Schneider, Alex Schneider and Denver Alvis; and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 3 PM, Saturday, August 8, 2015 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 2:30-3 PM.
