Pauline Mary Smith, 80, passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2025.  Pauline was born in Newport News, the daughter of Hermit Moore and Sheilah Moore.

She is survived by her husband Lanceford Smith; children, Timothy Rogar (Flisa) Nevada, Anthony Rogar (Kimberly) Newport News; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Riesbeck; nieces, Annita Fowler (Jack), and Bonnie Dietz (Chad);  four great-nieces and great-nephews; and all the family in Ireland who loved her dearly.

Pauline loved spending time with family, she was so proud of her boys and how they grew into such good men. She said one day, "I must have done something right".  She found joy in planning family cookouts, trips, adventures to other states and countries. She was a good cook, and loved having birthday get togethers, Christmas parties, and Christmas dinner at her house.

She loved gardening and working in her yard; loved antiquing and her spot at the Williamsburg Antique Mall. Pauline enjoyed wagering on and watching the big three horse races;  and was always available for friends, if they needed help.

After 30 years, she retired from Anheuser Busch; and then worked at H&R Block part-time, and later Home Depot where she retired after 16 years.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 23, 2025 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, 245 S. Armistead Avenue, Hampton; the family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at  Parklawn Memorial Park Hampton.
