IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pauline Hunt
Dudley
February 15, 1913 – February 2, 2018
Pauline Hunt Dudley went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, February 2, 2018 just 13 days shy of her 105th birthday. The next to the youngest of seven children born to Thomas Henry Hunt and Henrietta Watkins Hunt, she was born in York County but moved to Hampton as a young child and graduated from Hampton High School. She was a faithful member of East Hampton United Methodist Church for most of her life where she served as Financial Secretary for many years and was a member of the Rainbow Circle and the United Methodist Women. She attended Hampton Christian Church Disciples of Christ when able.
Preceded in death by her husband, George M. Dudley; she is survived by her daughter, Sallie D. Puffenberger and her husband, Jim; her granddaughters, Jamie P. Karpa and her husband, David and Lori P. Mason and her husband, Danny; three great-grandchildren, Justin J. Cline, Alexandria L. Cline, and Jeffrey S. Sale and his wife, Amanda; and a great-great-granddaughter, Skylar P. Sale. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She loved her family deeply as evidenced by the huge smile she gave every time one of us walked into the room.
The family would like to thank her special angels, Marsha Anim, Brenda Kincaid, Emma Fauntleroy, Jerri Cook, Edouline "Shirley" Reyes, and the late Viola Jackson for the loving care they provided to their "Miss Pauline". She loved you all. We would also like to thank Hampton Family Practice. Retired doctor Michael H. Joynes and her current nurse practitioner Sharon Upright and their staff have given her wonderful care through the years. Sentara Hospice has also provide outstanding guidance and support over the last month.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7 Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy may be made to a charity of your choice.
