Paula Emilie Jones, 94, died Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Born in Linthicum Heights, MD, she was a Hampton resident for over 60 years where she was a devoted member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, serving on the church council as well as teaching many Bible study groups. A 35-year civil servant, she worked as a secretary at Fort Monroe and then retired at Goddard Space Center in 1984.

Preceded in death by her brother, Wesley Selby and a grandson, Josh Steeves; survivors include her daughters, Deborah Schroeder and husband, Howard of Amelia and Barbara Leonard of Poquoson; three grandchildren, Heather Browning, Patrick Browning, Jr., and Jacob Steeves and his wife, Laura; and four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Lillian, Emma, and Violet Steeves.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Hampton Memorial Gardens.
