Obituary

Paul Eugene Kline, one of America's Greatest Generation, passed away peacefully at his home on July 2, 2017 at age 96. He was born in Vintondale, Pennsylvania to Helen and John Kline. Paul was the oldest of their four sons. He graduated from Portage High School in 1939 and enlisted in the Army and did his basic training at Fort Monroe.

While stationed at Langley Field he met the love of his live, Ella Mae Johnson. They were married in 1941 while Paul was stationed in Puerto Rico and spent 73 wonderful years together. Paul was a patriot who loved his country. He served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in the war. He retired from the Air Force in 1962 as a Chief Master Sergeant. After his retirement from the Air Force he worked as a manufacturer's representative with Cathell and Associates.

Paul was a man of extraordinary faith. He was a very active member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church where he taught the young adult Bible class for many years, served on many committees and sang in the choir.

Paul was also a Mason. He became a member of the Monitor Lodge in 1952 and served as Worshipful Master in 1960.

He was a member of the Fox Hill Volunteer Fire Company for 72 years. He served the fire company in many capacities, most recently as chaplain.

Paul was an avid gardener and fisherman. He always had a bountiful harvest and loved supplying his neighbors with fresh vegetables.

Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a genuine interest and concern for others and touched the lives of many people through his kindness and generosity. He lived a life of service to others.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Johnson Kline and brother, Charles Kline. He is survived by his daughter Mary Lou Roaseau (Marty), son John Kline (Linda); grandchildren, Christopher Kline (Celina), Brandon Kline (Jeannette), Lauren Roaseau and Lindsey Roaseau; and great-grandchildren, Chloe, Sydney, Brooke and Harrison; and brothers James Kline and John Kline along with many other family members that were blessed to know him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 7th from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church. A celebration of Paul's life will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery.
