IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul N.
Jeffrey
December 30, 1940 – October 28, 2018
Surrounded by his family, Paul N. Jeffrey peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018. Born in Cyclone, West Virginia on December 30, 1940, he was the son of Pearl Paynter Jeffrey and Elmer Paul Jeffrey. He graduated from Oceana High School in Oceana, West Virginia and moved to Washington, D.C. where he worked for the F.B.I. for three years. Paul returned to West Virginia and married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Faye Walls on August 31, 1962. They made their home in Newport News, VA and Paul began his career with the Newport News Shipbuilding. In 2002, Paul retired as foreman in the Machine Shop after 38 years of service.
Paul enjoyed sports and was an avid West Virginia Mountaineers fan. He was a familiar face on the Little League field and coached for Parkview Little League for 17 years. His loud cheers couldn't be missed at his son's high school baseball games or at any of his grandchildren's sporting events or dance recitals. Paul, a member of Parkview Baptist Church, was a friend to all and enjoyed offering a helping hand or a supportive pat on the back to anyone who needed it.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Elmer Jeffrey and beloved Stepfather, Earl Doak, Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce Jeffrey; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Krueger Jackson of Smithfield; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Stephanie Jeffrey of Gloucester; grandchildren, Ashleigh Jackson, Mackenzie Jackson, Austin Jackson, Adyson Jeffrey and Rylie Jeffrey; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Mike Toler of Mullens, West Virginia; niece, Jessica El-Ayazra; nephews, Jeremy and Jonah Toler.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Parkview Baptist Church in Newport News, VA. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church.
The family would like to thank Riverside Hospice. Our special thanks to Debbie, Kathy and Omeka for their kindness and support while Paul was in their loving care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be sent to Parkview Baptist Church, 604 Hilton Blvd., Newport News, VA 23605.
