Patricia Evans Saunders, 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.  Born in Virginia to parents, Albert and Lucille Evans, she had been a longtime Hampton resident.  Patricia enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, puzzles, Legos, and time with her family; especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed staying busy and her fun spirit wanted to always be doing something.  Patricia was devoted to her work and she was an accomplished bookkeeper working for many years in accounting and preparing taxes.  A long-time member of Wythe Presbyterian Church and Emmanuel Episcopal, she devoted many hours to being church treasurer.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter H. Saunders; and son, David S. Saunders; she is survived by her daughter, Rita S. Hall (Randy); son, Michael P. Saunders; grandchildren, Kyle Hall, Harley Hall, Jorden Saunders (Alyssa), Ambrose Saunders (Allie), and Maxwell Berkley (Braxton); great-grandchildren, Autumn Alexander, Ethan Saunders, Emmett Saunders and Braxton W. Berkley, III; brother-in-law, John Saunders (Dot Ann) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:30 PM on Monday, April 21, 2025, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton; with a graveside service to follow at 3 PM at Parklawn Memorial Park.

The family requests no flowers, and asks that any memorial donations be made in Patricia's name to your favorite charity.
