Obituary
GRANDY, NC - Patricia Dawn Midgett Heath, 73, died at home January 13, 2016. The daughter of Edwin R. Midgett and Marjorie D. Midgett, she was born in Wanchese, NC and raised in Manteo, NC and had been a longtime resident of Hampton before moving to North Carolina. Patricia completed the X-ray technician program at Dixie Hospital in Hampton and had gone on to work as an X-ray Technician and Mammographer for Riverside Health Systems until her retirement. She was a faithful servant and loved the Lord with all of her heart. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she will be remembered as the sturdy foundation of her family. She was called by the Lord to serve others, and showed love and compassion to her patients as well as friends and family she was called to care for. During her time in Hampton she had been a faithful member of Ivy Memorial Baptist Church. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brother Edwin R. Midgett Jr. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Stephen E. Heath; son, Stephen E. Heath Jr. of Texas; daughter, Abbey Dawn Heath Cartwright (Nathan) of Grandy; grandchildren, Madeline Dawn Cartwright, Layla Meade Cartwright, Colton Russell Heath, and Hannah Marie Heath. The family will receive friends at Sharon United Methodist Church in Poplar Branch, NC on Sunday January 17, 2016 from 1:30-2:30PM. A funeral service will follow at the church at 2:30PM. An interment in Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, VA will follow at a later date. Arrangements are by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, Hampton, VA 757-723-3191.
