Obituary
NEWPORT NEWS - Patricia Jean Bartlett of Newport News, VA entered peacefully into eternal rest on March 3, 2016 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on January 11, 1935 in Foster, RI. She moved to Buffalo, NY when she was nineteen years old, and in 1979 she moved to Newport News, VA where she was employed by the City of Newport News Treasurer's Office and later by Dominion Power Plant. Patricia was a member of Northside Christian Church in Yorktown, VA. She loved the Lord and cared deeply for His people. She lived by the words of Matthew 25:35-40. Patricia was passionately devoted to her family, loved traveling, was an avid reader, and spent many hours volunteering at the elementary schools where her grandchildren attended. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, George Robert (Bob) Bartlett, four children: Merry Wenzlaff (husband Steve), Nancy Tobin (husband John), De De Villafana (husband John), and George Robert (Bobby) Bartlett, Jr; eight grandchildren: Joel, Heather, Rachel, Shannon (husband Josiah); Jocelyn (husband Donny), Justin, Matthew, and Alexander; and three great grandchildren: Gabriel, Damien, and Arabella. A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at Northside Christian Church, 1300 George Washington Hwy, Yorktown, VA 29693 officiated by Senior Pastor Larry Jones at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 6, 2016. The family will receive visitors immediately following the celebration service at the church building. Arrangements by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
