Obituary

On Sunday, April 19, 2015, Pamela Puckett Pavlik, 58, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at Riverside Regional Medical Center after a short, hard-fought battle with lung cancer. Known to most as "Pam," she was a lifelong resident of Hampton and was a 1974 graduate of Bethel High School. Throughout her working career, Pam was a valuable employee to various companies across the Hampton Roads area, but her main priority was getting "the boys" to practices and games on time. Pam loved showing off pictures of her grandchildren on Facebook, spending quality time with her mother, and she especially took pride in the family that she and husband, Steve, raised during their 35+ years of delightful matrimony. Pam's love for family and friends warmed the hearts of anyone who knew her. Though her light has gone out of our lives and she will be sorely missed, we can rest assured there is a new star in heaven still shining brightly on us all. Pam was preceded in death by her father, L H Puckett, Sr. Survivors include her mother, Alma Puckett; husband of 35 years, Steven Paul Pavlik; two sons, Paul Steven Pavlik and his wife, Kristal, and Alan Lewis Pavlik, and his wife Emily; brother, LH Puckett, Jr. and his wife Jane; step-sister Sheila Majka and husband Jim; grandchildren, Peter John Pavlik, Harper Brooklyn Pavlik, and Kenzi Sue Pavlik; and extended family including numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00PM, Friday, April 24, 2015 at Parklawn Memorial Park by Rev. Brian C. Adams. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Thursday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Peninsula SPCA, 523 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, VA 23601.
