Beloved Mother, Neldon Beverly Hope went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021.

She was the daughter of the late Master Sergeant Merritt E. Hope Sr. and Neldon H. Hope of Newport News, VA. Beverly was born on December 11, 1943 in Hampton, VA and continued to reside here most of her life. She graduated from Grant Union Highschool in Sacramento California in 1961. Years later she returned to the peninsula and began her healthcare career and retired with the Bon Secours Health Care System. Beverly enjoyed ceramics, sewing, jewelry making and crocheting. Many people were blessed with the labor of her crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents along with two brothers, Merritt E. Hope Jr. and Kevin Hope.

She is survived by her loving daughter Christy Garner of Hampton, VA; siblings, Reginald Hope of Newport News, VA, Lynn Hope of Laurel, MD, and her aunt and uncle Arthur and Ann White of Newport News. She was also loved by a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The family would like to thank the Sentara Careplex ICU physicians and nurses for their excellent care as well as Fox Home Therapy, Southeastern Medical Home Health, Amedisys Home Health and Hampton Roads Family Practice.

The family will receive friends at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 5-6:30PM. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11AM at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
