Nancy W Markham , 77, of Hampton, passed away Sunday afternoon Sept. 14th. Born and raised in Staunton, VA, she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and was a member of Job's Daughters. Nancy received her Bachelors degree from Madison College, which is now JMU. Upon graduating from college Nancy worked in the School of Education and later became secretary to the Secretary of the Board of Visitors of UVA. Later she taught in President Johnson's Head Start Program and was a business teacher at Broad Run High School in Loudon County, VA. Nancy was the daughter of Harold B and Alice Powell Whitten. She is survived by her husband, Revered Tommy Markham; two children, John Mark Markham(Barbara) and Sarah Elizabeth Markham Gardner(Michael); and 3 grandchildren; Trevor, Connor and John Michael Gardner. A memorial service will be held Sat. Sept. 20th. at 11 am. at The First United Methodist Church Fox Hill, Hampton.
