Nancy Boyle Curran, 85, passed away on July 6, 2024. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, she has been a resident of Newport News since 1968, where she retired in 2001 from Riverside Hospital.
Nancy graduated from St. Basil's Catholic School and earned her RN from Pittsburgh Hospital and School of Nursing, then received her B.S. in Nursing from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, MD. She worked in the Operating Room at Pittsburgh Hospital and then at the Veterans Hospital in Washington, D.C. Later she worked in Public Health in D.C. and in Newport News. She was a school nurse and finished her nursing career at Riverside Hospital Ask-A-Nurse.
Nancy was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, where she volunteered and served as a Minister of Communion, Chairman of the St. James Guild, and in the Pharmacy Outreach Program of Social Ministry.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bob, and their children and spouses, Mary and Scott Belbin of Hampton, Brian and Bridget Curran of Arlington, Tim Curran of Washington DC, and Jeanne and Billy Glunz of Chicago; grandchildren, Molly Belbin, Michael Curran, Patrick Belbin, Jack Curran, Tyler Glunz, Will Glunz and Maggie Curran.
The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 PM, Sunday, July 28, 2024. at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, July 29, 2024, in St. Michael Hall of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 144 Harpersville Rd. in Newport News, by Rev. Mike Renninger.
