February 28, 1946 – January 17, 2021
Nancy, Carol to all that knew and loved her, passed away peacefully at Riverside Regional Medical Center after a courageous battle with COVID 19 with her children by her side on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at the age of 74. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, auntie and friend. Carol was a homemaker and a nanny to many special children. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners, talking on the phone with family and friends and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife and caretaker for her husband of 42 years, Robert Dale Clark, who passed away on December 16, 2020.
Born in Norfolk County, Virginia she was raised in Suffolk and was a Hampton resident for over 50 years. She was Baptist by faith. Carol was preceded in death by her parents Samuel H. Eure and Gertrude Ray Eure Babb, as well as her sister, Virginia Kafka. She is survived by her loving children Teresa Hudgins (Jerry) and Craig Baker (Tammy); step-children Sherry Hammond and Robert Clark, II; grandchildren Connor Hudgins (Kari), Sydney Morse (Jacob) and Justin Baker; great-grandchildren Preston Hudgins and Aiden and Bryce Nix. She is also survived by her two brothers, Sam Eure and Jesse Eure; special friends Ellen Engle and Betty Wilson; and loving family Cyon, Mike, Dakota, Emmie and Valor Edgerton as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive family and friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Cyon Edgerton, 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22, 2021 at Parklawn Memorial Park. Due to COVID restrictions attendance at the service is limited but may be viewed live by visiting the Facebook page of R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
