Nada Diana Coates of Newport News, VA went home to receive her heavenly reward on January 24, 2026 after a short illness. Diana was born on April 1, 1930 in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. She may be remembered by many as the longtime office manager for Riverdale Radiologists of Hampton, VA. After her retirement she authored a book of short stories about her childhood during World War ll titled, "A Childhood lnterrupted".

Diana was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and later, lmmaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was always strong in her faith and her love of family.

Diana was predeceased by her loving husband Carley J. Coates of Newport News, VA, and sons Jerry Lee Harless of Hillsville; VA and William V, (Billy) Harless of Ft. Meyers; FL. Surviving are son, James (Jimmy) G. Harless and wife, Darlene of Newport News, VA; grandchildren, John E. Krieger, Sr. and Caitlyn of Newport News, VA, Lesley Goodman and fiance, Kerry Luck of Toano, VA, and Rachel and husband Dan Harner of Norfolk, VA. Michael and Katie Harless of Martinsville, VA, Josh and Heather Harless of Hillsville, VA, also Matthew and Megan Harless of Orrington, Maine; Marlo and Jesse Feinberg of Boston, Ma., and sister Marion of Bangor, Maine. Diana is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
