Miles Edwards Jr., died Monday, June 30, 2014. Born in Isle of Wight County, he had been a Hampton resident since 1954. Mr. Edwards served in the US Army and then joined Newport News Shipbuilding retiring after 35 years of service. Mr. Edwards is survived by his wife, Diane G. Edwards; daughter, Sheri E. Lanning and husband Keith; son, Jeffrey Miles Edwards; grandchildren, Brittany Kerr, Heather Lanning and Morgan Lanning; great-grandchildren, Marley, Eliana, and Castiel; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Kay Garris. He was preceded in death by his father, Miles Edwards; mother Mary Shively; granddaughter, Brittany Whaley; one brother and two sisters. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 PM, Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church by Pastor Christine Farrow.
