Mildred Bew Lockwood, 92, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024. She was most recently a resident of Harmony on the Peninsula in Yorktown, Virginia.

All who knew Mildred knew her love for the Lord and her family. She and her husband, Charlie, were married for 70 years. They lived in Hampton where they raised their family and were members of Memorial Baptist Church. In 1984, they moved to Mathews, Virginia, and were active members of Mathews Baptist Church. After graduating from Hampton High School as valedictorian, Mildred held several secretarial jobs at Fort Eustis (3years), Langley Air Force Base (6 years), and Memorial Baptist Church (7 years). She also helped seasonally with tax preparation for 13 years. Mildred was very talented and stayed active with sewing, cross stitch, making flags, quilting, enjoying her many friendships through the years, and loving her many bridge groups.

Mildred is survived by two daughters, Sharon Muller (Jeff) and Candy Taylor; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Lockwood; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Charles W. Lockwood, Jr; son, Charles Brian Lockwood; and parents, Carl Norris and Edna Booth Bew.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024,11:00 am, at Peninsula Memorial Park.
