Mildred Skeps Davis, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 27, 2016. She had lived in Hampton since she was nineteen years old. A member of Northside Christian Church, she worked with the 4 year olds for many years, was a member of the Philothean Sunday school class, and was very active in other ministries of the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two husbands, Joseph Skeps and Garland Davis, children Jan and Robert Davis, Rebecca Hall and Rebecca's son, Glen, Jr., and Marjorie. Survivors include her son Joseph Skeps and his wife, Heddy and his two daughters, Susan and Sarah Skeps; Robert Skeps and his wife, Sheila and their daughters, Christy (Chip) LeBeau and Tara Skeps and her great-grandson, Cody Skeps; her daughter-in-law, Cindy Davis and her children, Jennifer (Charlie), Janet (Scott), John (Heidi), and Jarrod (Fatima) and their children, and grandchildren, Lori, Kris and Vanessa. She is also survived by the best sister in the world, Earline Elkins; and many nieces and nephews. She dearly loved her family and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 2, 2016 in the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
