Michael "Mike" Brown, age 71, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Thursday, May 3rd, 2018. He was born in Richmond, Virginia, to Lesser "Jerry" and Anne Catherine "Kitty" Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Janelle Glancy Brown; children, Stephen Brown (Marilyn), Leslie Nelson (Avery), Tyler Brown, Meghan Minkoff (Michael), Emily Brown and Michael Brown; grandchildren, Midori Brown, Claire Brown, Mia Minkoff, Mason Minkoff and Adelaide Nelson; sisters, Diane Taylor Brown Berk (Fredrick), Sharyn Bengel (Tommy); sister-in-law, Charlene Gentile (John); and many nieces and nephews.

Mike settled in Hampton, in 1998, after retiring from Philip Morris U.S.A. in Richmond, Virginia. He loved spending time with his family, taking his wife out boating and fishing, cruising around the neighborhood and playing with his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor that constantly kept everyone on their toes. His positivity and kindness brought out the best in everyone around him. The rock of the family, he always brought everyone together. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and anyone else lucky enough to have met him.

A celebration of Mike's life will be held Monday, May 7th, 2018 at 2pm at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. Monsignor Robert Perkins will perform the service. Visitation will follow the service.
