MelQuan Tyrese Kennedy was born December 1, 1994 in Hampton to Virginia to Shurenda Kennedy and Melvin Lee Alexander Jr.

Left to cherish his memories is his mother, Shurenda Kennedy; sister, Shanya Kennedy; brother, Kionta; sister, Melani Patterson; maternal grandparents, Chris and Sylvia Bailey; paternal grandparents, Melvin Lee Alexander Sr. and Teresa Alexander; three uncles, Tywan Kennedy, Jerome Alexander and Chris Bailey, Jr.; two aunts, Gloria Johnson and Zelta Bailey; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Melquan was a lifelong resident of Hampton and was educated in the Hampton City School system. He was a die hard Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Cavaliers fan. His favorite rapper is Nas; his favorite colors were orange and blue; and he loved basketball.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Greater Emanuel Temple, Hampton.
