Melba Lee Hess, 76, passed away peacefully at home February 15, 2017. A native of Jamestown, TN she had been a longtime resident of Hampton. Melba served in the Army and then worked as a Civil Service employee retiring as a GS-12, Contract Specialist. In her free time she loved to spend time with her husband Earl and she enjoyed reading and traveling. Melba was a devoted member of Hope Lutheran Church.

Melba was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty L. Hughes and Della Ray Roundtree. Survivors include her husband, Earl Hess, sister, Annetta Lincoln (Richard), and a large extended family.

A memorial service will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Hampton on Monday, February 20, 2017 at 2PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity or to the Hope Lutheran Church Memorial in memory of Melba.
